What To Expect

My examinations and history taking are very thorough and I schedule time to ensure they are included in each visit.  Each examination and treatment is conducted in a manner that minimizes patient anxiety and discomfort.

Patients are allowed to decline treatment and alternatives are offered.  The best diagnostic/treatment option (gold standard) is presented and other options are explored when needed.  My best recommendations are then made based on owner goals for the patient and ability to follow-through.  Treatment plans are then formulated with owner input based on the above.

So far this has served me well and clients often comment that they appreciate the time taken with their ward or the explanations and truthfulness in which information has been passed along to them.  For example, last year I saw an older patient who had been to see four different practitioners and the owner’s biggest compliment to me was that I had performed the most thorough exam on her pet EVER, even outperforming the specialists.

Regarding qualifications, I am the only veterinary professional in the Houston-Galveston area, and perhaps the entire State of Texas, who will have earned a Master’s degree in Chinese Veterinary Medicine at this time.
